To soak up the Ariège atmosphere Take a stroll in Saint-Girons

Start by discovering Saint-Girons, a charming little town at the foot of the Pyrenees mountains, 1 hour from Toulouse.

Stroll through the streets of its historic center, the view from the old bridge is particularly pleasant, the old houses are reflected in the waters of the river coming down from the highest mountains. Stroll between the stalls of its market on Saturday mornings, you will meet artisans and producers and you will be able to soak up its lively atmosphere! Enjoy a break in the park of the Chateau des Vicomtes which offers a relaxation area by the river.

Also make a stop at the gourmet restaurant Auberge d’Antan, right next to our hotel.

To discover the surrounding landscapes Walk on the Ariège hiking trails

On foot, take one of the many hiking trails in Couserans and its foothills. You can embark on the GR10, which crosses the Pyrenees and the paths of Saint-Jacques de Compostelle.

From the hotel you can walk on part of the
path of freedom that leads to Spain or take a circuit in the plain along the Salat.

The more athletic can climb the mountains and high-altitude lakes such as:

- The Araing pond,

Whatever your practice (mountain bike, hybrid bike, road bike, gravel...) you will be welcome at the Hôtel Madame Rêve.

 The Greenway (Saint-Girons-Foix) cycle path, less than 5 km from the hotel, is accessible to young and old alike. 

The V81 cycle route which crosses Ariège from east to west is currently being built.

The most experienced road cyclists will be able to tackle some of the emblematic passes of the Tour de France:

- The Col de la Core, 1395m altitude, departure Bordes sur Lèze, 14.1 km at 5.7%

- Le Port de Lers, 1517m altitude, Departure from Le Port, 12.9km at 6%

 - The Col d’Agnès. 1570m altitude, Departure from Aulus-les-Bains, 10.2 km at 8.1%

From Saint-Girons:

- The Marco Casartelli, the emblematic stage of the 100 km of the Tour de France,

Downhill mountain bike enthusiasts will find places suited to their passion at the Guzet bike park or the Col d'Ayens.

The Couserans-Pyrénées mountain bike area, labeled by the French Cycling Federation, includes:

- 475 km of marked trails,

- 3 VTC circuits,

- 1 122 km itinerary circuit,

- 4 Enduro descents,

- 2 marked circuits for electrically assisted mountain bikes.

To enjoy the winter season Hit the slopes and go snowshoeing

In winter, there are many activities available to you in the Couserans. Learn or improve your cross-country skiing and downhill skiing at local ski resorts such as Guzet-Neige. Try speedriding if you like thrills.

Go snowshoeing or let yourself be transported by a dog-sled excursion.

Enjoy a good feast at the resort's high-altitude chalet and its panoramic view.

To relax after a day of sightseeing or excursions, head to the thermal waters of Aulus-les-Bains.

To cool off on sunny days Enjoy the many aquatic activities

Land and air are not the only places to entertain you during your stay. You will find many aquatic activities in the surrounding area. The lakes and rivers are particularly suitable for canoeing, canyoning, rafting, fishing, and swimming. 

Preserved areas allow you to stroll or fish in complete tranquility. Lake Bethmale, with its crystal clear emerald waters and lush forest, is considered the little jewel of Couserans.

You can go to the Saint-Girons Aquatic Center to enjoy its swimming pools (paddling pool, sports pool), and its wellness areas equipped with hammam, sauna and jacuzzi.

The fauna and flora change with the seasons and are worth appreciating. Excursions are organized to observe birds, in particular the birds of prey of the Couserans (Bearded Vulture, Golden Eagle, Griffon Vulture...)

Take part in the transhumance by following the livestock that migrates from the plain to the mountains in summer.
